Hostage Situation at Clinton Campaign Office

via CNN.

If I hear more, I'll be posting it.

The two hostages have been freed, though CNN reports that the gunman is believed to remain in the building.

I'm glad that there were no casualties in this hostage situation.

Hi Pineapple:
You hit a nerve with the comment on Feministing that you can't forgive your father for his sexist comment. My father is a pig also, and treated me like a second class citizen my whole life, (I'll be 52 in March). I struggled my entire life to be the best person I could be, the only one in the family to finish college, I got a master's, a good job - I'm still only a woman. Ever vigilant to make my father like and respect me, I traveled to Florida at great inconvenience and expense last August,(I’m a consultant – I only get paid when I work), to spend some quality time with him now that he's old and we don't have much time left. The idiot propositioned me. I kid you not. I'm finished with him - I really cannot excuse this one. I know there are good, moral men out there, but most of them are selfish pigs and now that I'm getting older, I realize that I'm better off alone. I truly think that the reason society says that women can't get men after 50 because they're too old is a complete fabrication. I know for a fact that I'm still attractive and desirable to men - even those who aren't my father. I choose to be alone because men take advantage of my good nature and generosity. I'm one of the lucky ones though, I don't need anyone. Just buck up honey and struggle for success - and you will struggle. This world is not a good place for women - especially when you can't even rely on your father. But look at it this way; you don't have any illusions about men. You can pretty much bet all most men think about is themselves first and foremost. I know there are exceptions - I hope you find one if that's what you want. Like your blog - keep up the good work.
